RxNorm Cross-Reference File
RxNorm is a non-proprietary drug vocabulary maintained and distributed by the National Library of Medicine. It has been identified as the vocabulary-of-choice to be incorporated into government systems as they are updated. RxNorm is also the drug code set for e-prescribing messaging for 2006 MMA pilot projects.
To support these initiatives and our customers involved in them, we have created RxNorm Cross-Reference File, which maps Medi-Span® drug concepts (Generic Product Identifier, Drug Descriptor ID and Drug Name ID) to the appropriate RxNorm concept.
BENEFITS

Enables users to match drug terms from the Medi-Span® suite of products to RxNorm concepts
